The Bricklayers Arms, Shrewsbury Is Set to Open Its Doors Again Following a Development Project

The Bricklayers Arms has recently undergone a respectful and thoughtful development, designed to enhance the pub’s charm while preserving its historical character. Our project aimed to subtly improve the space, ensuring it remains a comfortable and beloved social hub for the community.

One of the key updates includes the expansion of the bar area offering a vibrant environment, Perfect for live music entertainment and it boasts a seamless access to a newly introduced covered courtyard through bifold doors supplied by our local supplier Venables, creating the perfect indoor outdoor space. The addition of bi-fold doors connects the indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a harmonious setting where patrons can enjoy their pints in this new and exciting area of the Bricklayers Taphouse. This cleverly designed addition allows the pub’s space to extend into the outdoor area, perfect for a sunny afternoon with a pint of Joule’s, and lets the pub’s welcoming glow to extend into the outdoor seating area, enhancing the overall experience.

In keeping with the traditional spirit of The Bricklayers, we’ve added classic bar games like darts and shuffleboard, providing a fun and engaging environment for all. The rest of the pub has seen gentle updates, including improvements to the bar area, which now features an even wider selection of Joule’s beers. The kitchen has also been extended to support a more robust food offering in the near future, ensuring that our well-loved Sunday Lunches continue to delight.

Our aim throughout this project was to respectfully recharge The Bricklayers Arms, maintaining its cosy, inviting atmosphere while adding thoughtful enhancements that will be appreciated by our patrons.

We are thrilled to announce that Scott and Caroline Jenkins have been appointed as the new landlords of The Bricklayers Arms in Copthorne. The couple will officially take the helm as we open our doors on August 30th, 2024. With a shared passion for creating vibrant community spaces, Scott and Caroline are set to bring new energy and ideas to this beloved establishment.

Under their leadership, guests can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by a superb selection of beer, delicious food, and a host of entertainment options. The Bricklayers will continue to be a hub for live music, with regular events to come, and our patrons will have the chance to enjoy games like shuffleboard and darts.

To kick off the reopening, they are working hard behind the scenes to build a team and create a fantastic pub menu for customers to enjoy. The pub will open with drinks, pub snacks and a food offering will follow soon after. As Scott and Caroline settle in, they have assured us – that the Bricklayers famous Sunday roast will be returning once more.
