The Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase is returning for 2024!

Wednesday 7 February 2024, 1pm – 5pm

Terrace Pavilion and Churchill Room, House of Commons

The Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase 2024 (HAS) takes place on Wednesday 7 February 2024 in the House of Commons during National Apprenticeship Week (5-11 Feb).

The highly anticipated event will unite companies across the hospitality industry once again to recognise the outstanding work carried out by apprentices in the industry. Whilst HAS portrays the diverse range of roles within the sector, it reiterates the importance of cross-party support to ensure that hospitality has the right foundations to continue to thrive in our towns, cities and villages.

Jill Whittaker OBE, Managing Director of HIT Training, has played an interactive role in HAS over the years and recently hosted the Showcase’s first-ever panel session in 2023.

Jill said: “It is amazing to be a part of another Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase and celebrate all the talented apprentices in our industry. I am a huge supporter of apprenticeships as they offer the same levels of education as traditional methods but with more hands-on learning. I cannot wait to hear all the different apprentices’ stories and help continue to raise awareness of careers in hospitality.”

Now in its eighth year, over 1,200 apprentices from the hospitality sector have showcased their skills and met with Lords, Ladies, and MPs to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, accompanied by employers, parents and colleagues.

Guests can expect to be immersed in the exciting world of hospitality at this inspiring event. The inclusive and diverse day will showcase a myriad of professions within the industry, from chefs to expert mixologists, brewers, and professional support team apprentices.  Media and guests from the education sector can hear key sector information on apprenticeships and the careers offered by the companies participating on the day.

At the 2024 event attendees can hear from those who attended an earlier showcase whilst on an apprenticeship and where that has now led them along their career path. “This event never fails to inspire,” said Leisure PR’s Director Maureen Heffernan, who launched and organises the event. “To now hear from some of the amazing apprentices that previously attended the showcase is a testament to the commitment companies make in ensuring the apprenticeships offered are fit for purpose and provide limitless possibilities for career progression.”

Lee Woolley, Director of Learning & Organisation Development at Stonegate Group said: “At Stonegate, we offer real value and growth opportunities so individuals can launch their hospitality careers. We offer a wide range of apprenticeships across the business, from head office support functions to those available in front and back of house.

“It is great to come together with other businesses within hospitality and celebrate our apprenticeship programmes and the apprentices’ hard work and achievement. Our team always look forward to attending, it is such a vibrant and rewarding day.”
