Live American Style Wrestling is set to make a re-appearance in the heartland of Cheshire; the Leigh Arms is the only pub in the country to stage professional wrestling. Following the huge success of the last two years, which saw audiences of over a thousand come through the doors and raised in excess of £3000 for Meningitis Research UK, licensee Joanne Higham has decided to do it again!
A horde of 10 full-time professional wrestling legends from all over the country have wavered their fees for the day in order to join the Leigh Arms on Saturday 22nd June.
Set to appear at the event will be the ex. WWE star Buddy Stretcher, he said he is more than happy to interrupt his European tour to take part in the charity event.
Joint promoter of the show ‘1st Class Wrestling’, who are based in the north east, are also pleased to be able to present the World’s Smallest Wrestler – the one and only ‘Little Legs’… fitting for a town called Little Leigh!
Also making a welcome return to the Leigh Arms is fan’s favourite ‘Tony Spitfire’, Tony said recently that he enjoyed himself so much last year and he especially enjoyed the beer that Robinsons Brewery created just for the event aptly named ‘Big Daddy’. When he heard that Robinsons were going to brew the beer again for this year’s event he said he couldn’t wait to wrestle with a few more pints of it!
The event is being supported by Liverpool Football Club, along with Tesco’s, Barclays Bank and Britvic.
The bone crunching action starts at 2pm Saturday 22nd June 2013. After the event there will be a unique opportunity to meet the indestructible wrestlers in person, followed by live music from fantastic local band ‘Zed’s Dead’.
The whole event is free and held at The Leigh Arms, Warrington Road, Little Leigh, Northwich, Cheshire.
