The long-awaited return of The Nightingale is nearly here.
After being shut for 10 weeks, the well-loved community pub in Langord village, Bicester, will be reopening for its soft launches this week ahead of its official launch next Saturday.
The pub has had an impressive refurbishment including a full new bar area, brand new toilets and a newly decorated garden area welcoming in guests from the local community.
Kieran O’Brien, former landlord and now General Manager, said, “It’s always been a dream of mine to run the perfect local, now with this refurb, I truly believe we can achieve great things. The team are in place and we are raring to go”.
The relaunch will feature a brand-new food menu with fantastic dishes such as Nachos, Chicken & Mushroom Pies, Lasagne and classically loved popular menu items such as Fish and Chips and to finish, an array of proper pub puds. Thirsty? Have no fear, the team will be serving up award-winning Brewpoint beers, brewed just over 40 miles down the road and there will also be fantastic drinks offers including shots and bombs bundle deals, a selection of cocktail with 2-4-1 happy hours and £15 bottles of Prosecco all week.
The pub will reopen just in time for the live sport season to kick in including the screening of the most anticipated football tournament this year. The team have plans to open with a bang and continue a roaring trade as they enter the festive season. Christmas bookings are already proving very popular, and they are especially looking forward to bringing back the well-loved community events that put the pub on the map initially.
Kieran and the team already have an incredible reputation and are heavily involved in their community including hosting a hugely successful three-day Pride event earlier this year. They are also nominated for the North Oxfordshire Community Pub Hero Awards organised by MP Victoria Prentis.
Tor Humpherston, Operations Director at Wells & Co. said, “We’re delighted to have The Nightingale within the managed division. The refurbishment is stunning, and we know that Kieran and the team will deliver not only a fantastic festive season but will continue to have a great trade throughout 2023.”
The Nightingale will have two soft launches this week, with the official reopening on Saturday 12 November.
