The Six Bells in Shinfield transformed after £300,000 investment

The Six Bells in Shinfield, Berkshire, has reopened after a £300,000 transformational investment by pub owner Greene King.

The pub will continue to be operated by Partners and licensees Sachin Singh and Sunil Sharma, who have run the business since 2018.

The significant investment has been used to expand the pubs trading space and upgrade its facilities, enabling it to host guests for a range of occasions at any time, including for private hire events, food service, wet-led drinking occasions and sporting events.

The highlight of the transformation is an extension to the pub, which will be used to cater for private events such as weddings, corporate events and birthday parties.

Alongside this, the outside seating area of the pub has been greatly expanded with a new, high specification pavement, doubling the outside seating capacity at the pub from 100 covers to 200 covers. The pub’s beer garden has also been returfed with additional seating and a play area for children to enjoy.

Inside, the whole interior of The Six Bells has been refurbished to a high standard, with all new seating, tables and lighting enhanced by a new layout to further increase the pubs trading capacity.

A new dedicated sports area has been incorporated into the pub as part of its new layout, which will show sporting events from Sky Sports, BT Sports and Amazon Prime on High-Definition television screens.

The Six Bells has historically been known for its freshly prepared and cooked North Indian cuisine featuring dishes such as Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Vindaloo amongst others, served alongside traditional pub classics. However, as part of its transformation, the pub will now cater for a more extended hospitality offering through its outdoor seating area and expanded trading areas.

The pub will now begin serving a carvery-style Sunday roast for the first time, which it is hoped will become a highlight for pub-goers. Alongside this, a cocktail machine has been installed at the pub to expand its drinks range, enabling customers to order an array of 18 different crafted cocktails and mocktails including Mojitos, Margaritas and Expresso Martinis.

To make full use of the increased space at the pub, operators Sachin Singh and Sunil Sharma will be introducing all new events and theme nights at the pub, including a Bollywood night and a regular quiz night.

The impressive transformation of The Six Bells pub stands as a testament to Green King Pub Partners’ commitment to investing in its licensees. Sachin Singh and Sunil Sharma have been key to the success of The Six Bells over the last five years and with Greene King’s substantial investment, they aim to grow their business through its expanded offer.

Dan Robinson, Managing Director of Greene King Pub Partners, said:

“I am delighted with our investment in The Six Bells, which is also an investment in Sachin and Sunil as our Partners and operators of this pub business. Our £300,000 investment has been used to greatly expand the trading footprint of the pub, enabling Sachin and Sunil to significantly extend their offer and grow their business.”

Sachin Singh and Sunil Sharma, Operators of The Six Bells in Shinfield, said:

“This is a really exciting time for our business as we look to take our next step and grow through our expanded offer. This wouldn’t be possible without the investment, ongoing support and expertise provided by Greene King Pub Partners. We cannot wait to reopen and welcome people back into our transformed pub!”
