- Duvel Moortgat Brewery wins four medals at the World Beer Awards 2020
- Duvel was once again voted ‘World’s Best Pale Ale – Belgian Style strong’
- Cherry Chouffe was voted ‘Country Winner’ and was the highest scoring Belgian beer in the category ‘Red Beer/Flavoured’
- Liefmans Goudenband received a silver medal in the category ‘Sour & Wild Beer/Oud Bruin’
- Tripel d’Anvers won a silver award in the category ‘Pale Beer – Belgian Style Tripel’
London 2020: Duvel has once again been voted ‘World’s Best Pale Ale – Belgian Style strong’, after gaining the same award in 2018.
This makes Duvel the ‘Country Winner’ for Belgium, and awards were also won by Duvel Moortgat’s Cherry Chouffe, Liefmans Goudenband and De Koninck’s Tripel d’Anvers.

At the 2020 World Beer Awards, an international jury chose from over 2,200 beers from more than fifty countries, divided into nine different categories, based on their individuality and style. The jury conducted blind tastings and judged the beers in three different rounds. This year, because of the pandemic, the jury members were unable to come to the beers, so instead, the beers came to them. Entries were shipped to Europe, Asia, Canada and Brazil and the expert judges liaised via digital platforms.
