3 Floyds Alpha King Challenge returns. Hosted with Yakima Chief Hops at London’s Anspach & Hobday Brewery
About the competition
Brewer’s from all over Europe are invited to participate in the quest to determine Europe’s best, most well-balanced and drinkable hop-forward beer. Judged on one day, cans and bottles of the fresh, bitter, hoppy beer entrants are blind tasted by a panel of international brewers and beer writers. This year precedes the start of the London Craft Beer Festival making it a highlight Thursday 11th August fringe event.
After initial rounds of judging the public are invited into The Arch House, Bermondsey, from 2pm as the final round of judging begins with the winner announced publicly at 4:20pm.
Alongside some serious kudos for having the best hoppy beer, the winners receive a cash prize, goody bags including hops from Yakima Chief and their own indomitable Alpha King Crown. See here.

Since the very first Alpha King Challenge in 1999, it has always been a close race until the end and we can’t wait to see which brew takes the top spot as the 25th winner.”
