THORNBRIDGE LAUNCH ‘FLORENCE’ IN SUPPORT OF THE NHS

Thornbridge brewery are launching their latest beer, Florence, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. All profits raised from sales of this beer will be donated to NHS Charities Together to support the incredible work our NHS heroes do.

Thornbridge wanted to find a way to support healthcare workers helping us all at this difficult time. Having launched a 25% discount for all NHS workers for beer ordered via their webshop they decided to go a step further and brew a beer to support NHS Charities Together. Once their pubs reopen Thornbridge also have plans to put on a number of parties for NHS workers, to thank them for the work they have undertaken during the pandemic.

As 2020 is The Year of the Nurse and Midwife as well as the celebration of what would have been Florence Nightingales 200th birthday. Thornbridge chose the name Florence as an acknowledgement to Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing and one-time local resident of Derbyshire.

Simon Webster, Co-Founder and Owner of Thornbridge Brewery says:

“Those working for the NHS at this time are doing such an incredible job and we wanted to find a way to support them. What better way than to brew a beer to honour them and donate all profits to NHS Charities Together.”

Florence is a 4.5% session IPA with a stone fruit aroma and a defined bitterness on the palate. Florence will be available in bottle from Mid-May at thornbridge.co.uk.

Ends.
