Three venues: 37 beers: one bespoke brew: four days
London Beer Lab, The King & Co and We Brought Beer come together to create a bespoke brew and collaborative beer festival for the May Bank Holiday weekend
Beer kindred spirits London Beer Lab, The King & Co and We Brought Beer are joining forces from Friday 27th to Monday 30th May inclusive to host the Route 37 Beer Festival, a four-day craft beer trail along the No. 37 bus route between Clapham and Brixton. The trail takes in a bespoke IPA “festival brew” called Route 37 which will be made by London Beer Lab and sold in keg there, in cask at The King & Co, and in bottles at We Brought Beer. Each venue has chosen 12 world craft beers as their “top picks for Summer 2016” to be enjoyed across the weekend, to encourage beer lovers and artisan brew fiends to come and try new beers and find out more about the world of craft beer. The festival will launch at 5:30pm on Friday 27th May at London Beer Lab in Brixton, with the first official taste of the Route 37 festival brew. This limited edition IPA is being brewed exclusively for the Route 37 Beer Festival – when it’s gone, it’s gone! Further events across the long weekend will include a special “beer brunch” at The King & Co where guests can enjoy a third of a pint of each of the 12 Summer brews selected by the pub alongside breakfast classics with a Scandinavian twist by May’s kitchen resident Allihopa; whilst over at We Brought Beer Clapham Junction the team will be hosting flight tastings of their top choices every two hours between 1 – 8 pm, priced at just £20 per ticket.
Beer trekkers will get their festival cards stamped at each venue when they purchase one of the recommended brews over the Bank Holiday weekend, and once six stamps have been collected can receive a free bottle of the Route 37 festival brew. Visitors will also be invited to vote for their favourite beer out of the 37 specially selected beers (including the festival brew).
Anthony from The King & Co, James from We Brought Beer and Bruno from London Beer Lab are all South London boys and are passionate about bringing the very best craft beer to the masses.
James Hickson of We Brought Beer says: “We’re so excited about this festival. It’s fun, it’s varied and you can pick and choose what to enjoy throughout the weekend. Not only are you supporting a local community initiative, you’ll get to drink some of the best craft beers from around the world too – so it’s a win-win situation!”
