UK Brewery of the Year, Tiny Rebel Brewing Co., is launching three of its most popular beers in cans for the first time.
‘Cwtch’, Champion Beer of Britain 2015, will be joined by American Pale Ale, ‘Cali’ and – due to popular demand – tropical IPA, ‘Clwb Tropicana’.
The launch comes as a result of the recent £2.6M expansion of the business. Additional space at the new brewery site has made it possible to install a canning line as well as increase capacity more than five-fold to 5 million litres annually.
Brad Cummings, co-founder of Tiny Rebel, said: “We’ve wanted to start canning our beers for some time. Can technology has come on leaps and bounds in the last ten years, making it a great option for some styles to be enjoyed by discerning consumers just how we intended.
“They also offer fantastic scope for design. We have always had a very striking visual style, and the cans allow us to create eye-catching packaging that will draw the attention of consumers.”
Tiny Rebel have carefully selected three beers with the punchy and complex flavours that suit this packaging format. ‘Cwtch’, a Welsh red ale, had fast become Tiny Rebel’s flagship beer and was named Champion Beer of Britain at the Great British Beer Festival in 2015.
‘Cali’, an American Pale Ale, but as the name suggests based on a West Coast style that uses the fruity, spicy, resinous hops from the beautiful West Coast of America.
The final can in the range, ‘Clwb Tropicana’, was added by popular demand. After starting as a limited edition in the Tiny Rebel Bars of Cardiff and Newport, this tropical IPA is now available permanently. It is packed full of American hops, amplified by peach, passionfruit, pineapple and mango flavours.
‘Cali’, ‘Clwb Tropicana’ and ‘Cwtch’ will be available in cans online and in Tiny Rebel Bars in Cardiff and Newport from the 20th February.

About Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.
It all began in a garage in 2008, where Brad & Gazz homebrewed on weekends. They got pretty good at it, and being beer geeks at heart, they always took things one step further – early 2012, Tiny Rebel was born.
A year later, they took the Great Welsh Beer Festival by storm winning Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Champion Beer of Wales competition. They won Champion Beer of Wales again in 2014. Their flagship beer Cwtch was declared Champion Beer of Britain at the 2015 Great British Beer Festival, an achievement they are extremely proud of.
They went on to win SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) Best Overall UK Brewery, as well as Best UK Brewery at the International Beer Challenge in 2016.
In 2014, they opened Cardiff’s first ever, fully-devoted craft beer bar and in 2015 their second bar in Newport. 2017 sees them step into their brand new purpose built brewery site, including a brewery bar and events space.
