Independent Yorkshire brewery, T&R Theakston is making its return to the line-up of CAMRA’s Great British Beer Festival Winter which will be held at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham this week.
The annual festival brings together hundreds of UK beers, international beers and real ciders and perries and also hosts the prestigious Champion Winter Beer of Britain award.
Having previously received the Yorkshire Champion of Champions accolade for its iconic beer Old Peculier, Theakston will be returning to this years’ festival with its full range of beers including the recently launched Yorkshire ‘AKA, a tribute to the Six Nations Cup, and its acclaimed new alcohol-free ale, Nowt Peculier.
Theakston will join a line-up of breweries including Brew York, Thornbridge Brewery, Tatten Brewery and Abbeydale Brewery for the four-day festival which will take place from February 12th to 15th at Rotherham’s Magna Science Adventure Centre.
Chairman of T&R Theakston, Simon Theakston said: “We are very excited to be making our return to the Great Winter Beer Festival this year. As returning champions and one of the oldest breweries in the line-up, at almost 200 years old, we’re looking forward to showcasing our beers and celebrating the brewing expertise of Yorkshire in our home county.”
CAMRA Events Director, Catherine Tonry said: “The Great British Beer Festival Winter will bring together a fantastic selection of familiar favourites and bold new brews. We’re excited to welcome Theakston back to the festival, where they’ll be offering a little of both! Supporting independent, family run brewers like Theakston is core to CAMRA’s campaigning mission.”
