Powderkeg’s new Red IPA hits the ground running
Powderkeg have launched their autumn special, a limited edition beer in 330ml can.
It’s a bold Red IPA at 5.0%ABV, with a sturdy backbone of Red X malt and punchy citrus notes from El Dorado, Citra and Centennial hops.
Trail Blazer explores big and bold flavours while walking a fine line between bitterness and sweetness.
Like all their beers it is also gluten-free and vegan for maximum accessibility.
Head brewer John Magill said “We wanted to take the IPA in a different direction, by using Red X for a strong malt foundation with rich berry notes, topped with citrus peaks from the US hopping. We think its the perfect beer for cooler temperatures, offering that body and balanced bitterness.”
It’s available direct from the Powderkeg website, and from good local farm shops and wine shops across Devon.
Powderkeg is Devon’s original craft brewery, taking classic styles and putting their own twist on them. Powderkeg was registered as a business name on 5th November 2014, so is coming up to its 10th birthday.
