Trifecta – Three Breweries, Three Countries, Same Name, One Beer

In a juicy turn of events for the craft beer community, three breweries with the same name from three different countries have joined forces to create a hazy IPA, appropriately named ‘Trifecta’.

On the 30th of April, Attic Brew Co. from Birmingham, England, Attik Brewing from Malaga, Spain and Attic Brewing Company from Philadelphia, United States, all came together in Birmingham to brew the jointly designed recipe after months of planning. This international collaboration marks the first time (but hopefully not the last) these breweries have partnered to produce a unique beer that embodies the best of their respective brewing styles, experience and cultures.

“We are excited to work with such talented brewers from across the globe,” said Oli Hurlow, co-founder of Attic Brew Co.  “Trifecta is a true testament to what can happen when like-minded breweries come together to create something extraordinary.  The blend of hops and techniques used in this beer represents the creativity and camaraderie that make the craft beer scene so vibrant.”

Trifecta is planned to be released in celebration of the Major League Baseball World Tour taking place in London in June. The official launch of Trifecta will take place at the Attic Brew Co. Taproom in Birmingham on Thursday the 6th of June 2024, with local releases also taking place in Malaga, and Philadelphia so save the date!

Friends, Oli and Sam, started Attic Brew Co. in 2018 to help Brum to better establish itself as a city of great beer.  Over the years, Attic beer has become a regular sight on taps across the city and beyond, with their flagship beer, Intuition, becoming one of the most popular beers in the region.  Best known for their hoppy hazy pale ales, Attic Brew Co. are brewing a wide range of styles to make sure everyone can find something they enjoy.  Production has grown more than ten times since opening, but their taproom is still the heart and soul of their business.  Sitting between the communities of Stirchley and Bournville, it’s a friendly venue for locals to get together, whilst remaining a beer hot-spot for passionate beer drinkers, both experienced and new.

Attik started with Jaime and Umeed, two childhood friends from primary school, brewing beers in an attic as a hobby over 8 years ago in Malaga, Spain.  A passion for brewing and a motivation to give Andalusia high quality craft beer, was the reason behind the start of this commercial project.

Since 2018, the growth and evolution has been incredible and substantial.  With more than 100 beers brewed in varying styles, the focus still remains on producing hop forward beers and Imperial Stouts.  After many years of dedication, the brewery has received recognition in the form of awards.  Voted as the best brewery in 2022 by the “Mediterranean Cup” as well as for an array of beers by the Barcelona Beer Challenge in several editions.

In recent years, the project has gained a new dimension, with the development of fascinating projects such as brewing wild ales, barrel aging and developing beers that require plenty of dedication.

After all these years, the project at its core is still run by its founders who to this day carry the same mission since the beginning, to offer the best possible product locally, nationally, and open craft beer to everyone.
