Try a different kind of beer this summer with two new releases from Beavertown’s Tempus Barrel Project

This summer, upgrade your drinking experience and try something different with two new releases from Beavertown’s Tempus Barrel Project: Mother of the Woods, and As Above So Below.

Embracing the magic of nature, Mother of the Woods brings inspiration from the wild outdoors and bottles it to create a light, delicate beer with all the floral flavours you’d expect from your favourite G&T, but in an ale. Crafted using fresh, locally foraged Juniper and Hibiscus flowers, this 7% ABV Wild Ale makes for a refreshing, pink gin spritz style beer with herbal, earthy flavours and a slight tartness. Created with the freshest seasonal flowers, the botanical flavours in every batch are unique, making for a truly exciting drinking experience.

Rather than being barrel aged, Mother of the Woods is freshly brewed, allowing for a lighter beer style that’s perfect for sipping in the afternoon sunshine. With its delicate rose flavours and a deep pink hue, Mother of The Woods is the ideal option for an after work drink or enjoying at a garden party with friends, much the same as a summery cocktail serve.

Also joining Beavertown’s Tempus Barrel Project this June is a tribute to ancient winemaking, As Above So Below. Half golden ale, half sparkling wine, As Above So Below is a has been created from a golden ale base, which is fermented with Chardonnay and Ortega grape juice from vineyards in Kent. This is then left to age on Pinot Meunier and Ortega grape skins for six months in an amphora, a large clay pot typically used for wine making, helping to regulate its temperature and allow the liquid to breathe. The result of this slow aging process is a rich, zesty beer and wine hybrid with a sparkling wine-like sharpness and 8% ABV.

Featuring all the depth you’d expect from a natural wine, but in a beer, As Above So Below is perfect for enjoying a meal with friends in the warmth of a summer evening. One sip and you can almost imagine you’re on holiday.

These two new additions to the Tempus Barrel Project portfolio join Chariot, Light Becomes Her, Awakening, Casting Circles and Rule of Three, all of which take the drinker on a flavour journey, pushing the boundaries on what is expected of beer. Beavertown Brewery is confident these beers taste great because it’s the product of nature, nurture and as much time as it takes to reach perfection.

About Beavertown

Bevertown is dedicated to crafting high quality, innovative beers like Gamma Ray APA or Neck Oil SIPA that appeal to the thirsty masses, as well as more experimental brews from our Tempus Project. From brewing to branding, we believe in creativity in everything we do.

  • At Beavertown, we believe beer is more than just a beer, it’s an experience. That’s why, pre-Covid, we hosted weekly Saturday taprooms to give people the chance to taste our carefully crafted beer in its natural habitat, our own Tottenham brewery. We’ll have more news on when our taproom is opening up soon.
  • Now 9 years old, Beavertown began life on a 650L kit in a BBQ joint in Haggerston. The brewery in Tottenham Hale produces 5500L batches (or 9,000,000 pints a year) and our new home in Enfield – Beaverworld – will allow Beavertown to produce ten times this, a staggering 90,000,000 pints a year.
  • The official craft beer of Tottenham Hotspur F.C., you can enjoy a crisp pint of your favourite Beavertown brew in our new taproom and microbrewery inside the stadium – the first of its kind.
  • Winner of 3 gold medals at the International Beer Challenge for core range beers Gamma Ray & Neck Oil.
