Tuborg beer, one of the UK’s leading world lagers, is looking to its Facebook community to design a limited edition can which will be used throughout the summer supporting Tuborg’s festival sponsorship.
Tuborg has drafted in the help of top UK graffiti artist, INKIE, to cast his artistic eye over the designs and pick the lucky winner out of the top ten entries. The winning can design will then go into production and the designer will have the pick of summer festival tickets as a prize, as well as the glory and kudos of designing the can.
INKIE says: “There’s bucketloads of creativity in the UK and Tuborg has given people a way of showing theirs. Imagine seeing the can you designed in the hands of hundreds of thousands of festival goers? No amount of money could pay for that! It’s a fantastic opportunity for a young designer to get the opportunity to shine and I’m really looking forward to judging all the finalists.”
The app allows people to either download the can template or design their can within Facebook. The designs are uploaded into a gallery and people can upload as many designs as they wish before INKIE has the final say on who will win this fantastic prize.
People have until the end of March to upload their design at www.facebook.com/TuborgUK
Chris Thornhill, Tuborg brand manager says: “Tuborg’s marketing campaigns really resonate with our drinkers and we’ve seen a 60% growth in the brand over the last two years* – that’s a staggering 5.3m pints extra! By sponsoring the UK’s leading festivals from Bestival to Latitude to Glastonbury, consumers are turning to Tuborg as a brand that reflects their personality. It’s creative and non-conformist, which is something other lagers strive to be but don’t quite get there.
“Investing in digital is key as it’s the space where our consumers spend a large percentage of their time. We have created something which will increase their dwell time on the Facebook page and deepen their affinity with the brand.”
