Over six hundred visitors enjoy Butcombe Brewery’s recent annual Open Day

Butcombe, the West Country’s fastest growing Brewery, recently opened its gates to over six hundred visitors. Approximately one thousand five hundred pints of Butcombe beer and Ashton Cider were enjoyed during the highly successful annual Open Day. Rare Breed ale collaborator, TV presenter and Cotswold farmer, Adam Henson joined Guy Newell, Butcombe’s managing director in welcoming visitors and they even took a turn with the Mendip Morris Dancers.
Four brewers conducted tours of the Brewery every quarter of an hour and the rest of the Brewery team helped serve and feed the guests.
Guy Newell took the opportunity to thank those who gave so generously to Butcombe’s nominated charity- the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance – to whom Butcombe donated a £12,000 cheque at the recent Bath & West show. The charity was instrumental in saving the life of one of Butcombe’s employees two years ago. Since that time, a proportion of every pint of Butcombe sold has been and continues to be donated to the charity. The Mendip Morris Men also gave up their own fund-raising in favour of highlighting the Air Ambulance money box.
Plans are already underway for an even bigger event in 2013.
