Two New Directors Join the Cask Marque Board

Cask Marque are delighted to announce two new appointments as non-executive directors in Suzanne Baker of Stonegate Pub Company and Paul Harbottle, the Group Commercial director of EI Group.

Suzanne, Commercial Director at Stonegate has spent her career within the licensed leisure sector having previously held managed positions in national pub and restaurant companies including JD Wetherspoon and Laurel Pub Company.  A council member with UK Hospitality Suzanne is responsible for the purchasing and property portfolio across Stonegate’s circa 700 pubs.

On her appointment Suzanne said “Ensuring pubs and bars serve top quality products that are as fresh as when they left the brewery to at tap dispense has help fuel the growth in cask and real ale products.  It ensures customers have a great taste experience be it their first foray into sampling beer or to satisfy their seasoned palate.  Being part of the future journey as Cask Marque continues to raise standards in cellar and beer management is a role I am looking forward to.”

Paul joined Ei Group in 2014, as MD of New Business to set up the Bermondsey Pub Company and is currently the Group Commercial Director.

Paul is responsible for Ei Groups’ Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and retail development, along with supporting the successful achievements of the Group’s 5 year strategy which includes ensuring key learnings from its managed operations are introduced into the leased and tenanted business.   Paul has 20 years’ experience in the sector including roles on the PLC board of JD Wetherspoon and CEO of Atmosphere Bars and Clubs.

Paul commented “I’m joining Cask Marque at an exciting time with the expansion of beer choices and consumer interest. Cask Marque has a unique opportunity to lead the way on standards, training and accreditation in the beer market.”

Paul Nunny, Director of Cask Marque was excited about the two new appointments. “Our Board will gain from the experience of these two retailers as we look to wider our accreditation to include all beer and focus on staff training.”
