Vocation Brewery’s Life & Death IPA Awarded 3 Stars at Great Taste Awards 2024

Vocation Brewery’s Life & Death 6.5% IPA 440ml

UK-based Vocation Brewery, which is known for its range of bold and flavourful craft beers, is celebrating a sweep of wins at the prestigious Great Taste Awards 2024, receiving 3 stars for its Life & Death IPA and putting it in the top 1.8% of all entries.

The Great Taste Awards is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. Putting food and drink to the test with a panel of over 500 experts, Great Taste provides honest, straightforward, and impartial feedback from chefs, buyers, food writers, and retailers.

One of the Vocation Brewery original beers and part of its core range, Life & Death is a full-bodied, bold, and flavourful IPA with bursts of tropical aromas, delicate floral notes, and a piney finish. Described as the best expression of a classic IPA, it has an ABV of 6.5% and is celebrated for its citrus, tropical, and pine notes.

The judges at the Great Taste Awards praised Life & Death IPA for having the perfect level of clean bitterness and championing the IPA’s great hop character. With one judge remarking that it was “a riot of flavours waltzing in joyous rapture”, this was a huge win for the Yorkshire-based brewery.

Awards were also received for its Love & Hate IPA, Naughty & Nice Chocolate Stout and Crush Hour Haze Pale.

Tom Holmes, Head of Marketing at Vocation commented: “We are absolutely thrilled that Life & Death has been awarded 3 stars at the Great Taste Awards. As one of the most renowned accolades within Food & Drink, it’s an incredible achievement and a testament to the dedication of our team, who work incredibly hard to create great tasting, bold and beautiful craft beers which push the envelope and give consumers more variety.

“We also received 2 stars for our Love & Hate IPA and Naughty & Nice Chocolate Stout, and 1 star for our Crush Hour Haze Pale, highlighting the exceptional quality and diversity of our beer range.”

Notes to Editors:

Bold and flavourful beers for the many.

Vocation Brewery was founded in 2015 by John Hickling, who left his job to follow his calling and brew the big, flavourful beers that he loves.

From its humble beginnings in an old chicken shed high up on a hill, 1000 feet above sea level, Vocation Brewery has grown strongly and now brews over 10 million pints a year which are sold nationally in the UK and throughout the world.

Brewing a breadth of beers, including exemplary IPAs, pale ales, stouts, and barrel aged beers, Vocation Brewery crafts distinctive beers with interesting aromas and flavours that invite conversation.

The UK-based brewery has recently unveiled a brand refresh, underpinned by Vocation Brewery’s belief that great tasting, quality beer should be for the many and for every occasion.

Alongside filling fridges across the globe, beer lovers can enjoy Vocation Brewery’s craft beers in numerous bars across the country, including its very own bar, Vocation & Co. With locations in Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Sheffield and Manchester, Vocation & Co acts as an extension of its brewery, creating a warm social space for local communities to enjoy great tasting beer.

Vocation Brewery’s range of beers are available to purchase directly from its website, and are stocked in grocery, high-street and online retailers, including Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons and Amazon.
