West Country Brewer Celebrates Double Shortlist in Prestigious Pub Awards

Independent business, Bath Ales, has been nominated for two coveted national awards recognising quality and innovation in the pub trade.

Shortlisted for two categories in the Publican Morning Advertiser Awards, Bath Ales is a finalist in the Best Managed Pub Company (2 – 50 sites) category as well as Best New Site for their flagship Graze restaurant site in Bath.

With 11 venues based across the South West, and a number of different styles and concepts across its estate, Bath Ales is a strong contender for the top spots.

Managing Director, Robin Couling, said: “These awards recognise the very best in the industry and to be shortlisted shows just how far we’ve come in the recent past.

“To be a finalist in two different categories is fantastic. We put a lot of effort into choosing the right locations and the right type of venues and understand our customers – we don’t believe that one size fits all so we tailor our venues to fit.

<image001.jpg>“We’re up against some tough competition, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that all our hard work will pay off when the winners are announced in March.”

Other sites nominated in the Best New Site category are based across the UK as far as Leeds and Edinburgh so competition is fierce.

In the Best Managed Pub Company category Bath Ales faces businesses such as Liberation Group and Provenance Inns.

Bath Ales has recently taken on two new venues in the heart of Bristol City Centre inside the popular concert venue, Colston Hall.

Robin continued: “This year is going to be a very big one for Bath Ales. We’re working on two brand new concepts for both venues in Colston Hall and there are some exciting things in the pipeline for later in 2014 – it is likely to be our biggest year yet.”
