Who gives a Wit? You do! Camden Town Brewery announces the return of Gentleman’s Wit, one of its most popular beers

The acclaimed beer won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup in 2018 and is now making a comeback

October 2022, London: Camden Town Brewery has announced the return of one of its most-popular fan-favourite beers: Gentleman’s Wit. First launched a whole decade ago in 2012, Gentleman’s Wit was last available for beer lovers to enjoy in 2019 so Camden is throwing it back with the return of a classic.

Having become one of Camden’s most popular products from its archive of great tasting beers, as well as winning a gold medal at the World Beer Cup in 2018, Gentleman’s Wit will be re-launching on 13th October at the Camden Beer Hall and is available now on the Camden web shop for fans across the UK to enjoy.

The brand’s take on a traditional Belgian Wit (White) Beer, Gentleman’s Wit has added hints of Earl Grey tea with bergamot and lemon zest, for a beer which politely packs a punch.

Brewed with perle hops, Belgian Wit Yeast and Pilsner, Wheat and Torrified Wheat malts, Gentleman’s Wit combines the caramelised pithy sweetness and sharp citrus juice of slow-roasted lemons, alongside the floral freshness of bergamot. This recipe is exactly same as the original, and the beer will be available in 330ml cans and on draft exclusively at the Beer Hall.

Chris Wheeler, Innovation Brewer at Camden Town Brewery, said: “When our brewers had the ingenious idea of combining a Wit Beer with slow-roasted lemons giving their caramelised pithy sweetness and sharp citrus juice, we had no idea just how good it would taste. It started off as a one-off brew, and because we loved it so much we brewed it again..and again…and again. And now it’s become one of our favourites – and one of yours too!”

Gentleman’s Wit is available now on the Camden web shop for £12 per 6-pack and on tap at the Beer Hall from 13th October. Beer fans should get in there quick, because this Wit is here for a limited time only.

To celebrate its comeback, Camden will also be hosting a shout at the Beer Hall on 13th October, giving away one kegs worth of beer to consumers at a Throwback Thursday themed event to celebrate the return of this Camden classic.
