Woodforde’s Brewery to sponsor Jimmy Doherty’s Popular Music and Food Farm Festival in July

Woodforde’s, the award-winning Norfolk-based brewer, is delighted to announce its sponsorship of Jimmy’s Festival – the annual celebration of music and food held on 21st and 22nd July 2018.  Jimmy Doherty, well-known television personality and farmer, holds this popular event each year on his farm in Suffolk near Ipswich.  Woodforde’s is sponsoring the main music stage ‘Wherryfields’, a nod to the brewer’s flagship amber ale Wherry, as well as the chef’s demonstration area, now named ‘Woodforde’s Kitchen’.

Over the weekend, ‘Woodforde’s Kitchen’ will host a range of celebrity guest chefs and demonstrations, which will be hosted by TV presenter and chef Joe Hurd.  Jimmy is expected to host the ever-popular sausage eating competition and Charlie Hodson, Executive Head Chef at the Fur & Feather pub adjoining the brewery and nominee for VisitEngland’s 2018 Tourism Superstar award, will join the celebrity line-up.

Headline acts on the ‘Wherryfields’ stage include eighties icon Paul Young, The Bluetones as well as Happy Mondays.   Other bands include the Marsicans, Longy and the Gospel Trash, Ashfields, MINT, Rory Hope and Tom Lumley.  Television’s comedy duo, Dick and Dom, will keep the kids entertained with their own brand of activities on the Sunday.

Jimmy Doherty said: “It’s great to have Woodforde’s on board this year, they’re a great brewery with brilliant beers and another fantastic producer from the East Anglia region.”

James Hughes, chief executive, Woodforde’s said: “We are so pleased to be involved with Jimmy’s Farm and the Festival.  It’s a great family event and with around 20,000 visitors expected over the weekend, it will give us an excellent new platform to highlight Woodforde’s brewery and our beer brands to a wider audience.”
