Boortmeerbeek, 26 August 2024 – Haacht Brewery has won three medals at the World Beer Awards. Gold medalist Tongerlo Brown may even call itself World’s Best Dark Belgian Style Dubbel from now on. The SUPER 8 Rouge 0.0, launched only in June 2024, won bronze in the No & Low Alcohol Flavoured category and SUPER 8 IPA scored bronze in the IPA American Style category. These medals prove the international appreciation of Haacht Brewery’s diversified range of specialty beers.
“We are very proud of this result. This is great recognition of the commitment of our employees and their continuous focus on quality and innovation,” explained Baudouin van der Kelen, CEO of Haacht Brewery.
“The innovative nature of the newly launched SUPER 8 Rouge 0.0 has not gone unnoticed. We have succeeded in launching a non-alcoholic rouge beer that is significantly lower in calories and sugar than most of the other beers in this market segment.
In addition to the spicy SUPER 8 IPA, our abbey beer Tongerlo Brown has also won an award. With this, the entire Tongerlo range has been awarded gold. In 2014, Tongerlo Blond won gold across all categories at the World Beer Awards.

Taste and quality are the two decisive criteria in the blind evaluation process. A team of international judges each individually assesses the quality of the beers submitted. A World Beer Award thus represents a seal of approval that aims to support consumers in their search for delicious beverages of the best quality.
