World Class Award for The Anderson – “The Top Places to Get a Beer in the World” list has just been released and the bar at The Anderson in the Scottish Highlands is one of the world’s best.

RateBeer, the internet’s biggest gathering place for breweries and beer enthusiasts from around the globe holds the largest beer competition in the World.  From several hundred nominees, The Anderson was chosen as one of the “Top Places To Get A Beer In The World”.  This is an incredible achievement especially since The Anderson is the only one from among the nine winning pubs in the UK not to enjoy the advantage of a city centre location.  Only three bars worthy of this title have been named in the whole of Scotland

“I am absolutely blown away by this award”, says is an internationally-published food and drinks journalist Jim Anderson, co-owner of The Anderson. “RateBeer is one of the biggest things ever to hit the beer business and hardly a day goes by when I’m not on the website to find out about some obscure brewery or beer bar. That they even noticed us up here in the middle of nowhere proves that they truly do scour the planet for the best in beer.”

The Anderson is a historic restaurant with rooms set in a rural, seaside location within easy reach of Inverness Airport which serves the main UK cities.  It is the perfect getaway for the urban foodie or fanatical booze hound.

This exciting award endorses that, from its cosy nook in the Highlands, The Anderson is consistently ahead of the curve in the UK food and drinks world.  Here guests can enjoy modern classics as flights of whisky; in-house food and spice smoking; Belgian beer; superb American-inspired dishes; American micro-brewed beer, Scandinavian cuisine & beer and in-house cheese making.

In keeping with their habit of setting trends The Anderson will host its Extreme Beer Festival on 4-6 April 2014, featuring the most weird, wild and wonderful beers the modern world has to offer: barrel-aged beer, wild-yeast beer, spiced beer, distilled beer, micro buzz beer, aged vintage beer and fruit beer to name but a few will be ready to be experienced.  These interesting characters will have been personally selected by Jim from breweries around the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and North America in cask, keg and bottle. There is no entry charge to the Anderson’s Extreme Beer Festival and guests pay as they drink. An up-to-date list of festival beers may be found at www.theanderson.co.uk/beerfest.htm
