Altrincham Community Pub Reopens Following Transformational £390,000 Refurbishment

Popular community pub the Old Packet House on Navigation Road in Altrincham officially reopened on Monday, 21st September following an impressive, combined investment of £390,000 from experienced licensee, Carl Stonehouse and Admiral Taverns, the UK’s leading community pub company.

This refurbishment has breathed a new lease of life into the Old Packet House to elevate and modernise the overall look and feel of the pub – whilst still retaining its original, characterful features such as the three open fireplaces – ultimately enabling the licensee to further cement it as the go-to community hub for local residents.

Internally, the pub has undergone a full refurbishment to include brand new decor, fittings, furniture and flooring throughout which has elevated the Old Packet House’s atmosphere and further expanded its offering to ensure it welcomes everyone and caters to all tastes.

Externally, the Old Packet House has been completely revamped to include brand new signage as well as a fresh coat of paint to greet visitors. In addition to this, the pub boasts a newly updated, beer garden with brand new heaters, seating and undercover area so that it can be enjoyed all year round.

Passionate licensee, Carl Stonehouse, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the pub having taken over as licensee four years ago. Going forward he is committed to creating a family-friendly hub that brings people together and supports all aspects of community life.

Going forward, Carl will be hosting a busy schedule of regular entertainment for the community to enjoy including quiz nights, open mic nights, Northern Soul nights, poker nights and Irish themed weekends. In addition, as part of his mission to giving back to the local community, they will also be supporting fundraising events for local good causes.

Following the refurbishment, the pub now hosts an impressive range of drinks including an extensive portfolio of cask ales, premium draught lagers and ciders. To ensure there is something for everyone, the pub now also offers a delicious cocktail menu.

The Old Packet House has also introduced a revamped version of its delicious food menu which consists of traditional pub favourites such as burgers, pies, and fish and chips.
