Attic Signs Up for Famed Funk & Folk Festivals

Award-winning independent brewery Attic has been announced as Official Drinks Partner for two of Birmingham's biggest 2026 music events — Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival, and Moseley Folk and Arts Festival.

Stirchley-based Attic will be supplying their crisp and refreshing iconic beers across all three bars at both festivals, including their popular flagship Intuition pale ale, along with Pilsner and Helles lagers.

Firm favourites in Birmingham, Moseley Folk Festival, Mostly Jazz Festival and Attic all share a common ideology — a fierce independence and city pride coupled with an inherent positivity and desire to promote and support the city, its businesses and communities.

Gerv Havill, co-founder of Mostly Jazz and Moseley Folk festivals said: "We're long admirers of what Attic have achieved in such a short space of time. Their independence, enthusiasm and courage as a business is something we totally understand."

Moseley Folk and Mostly Jazz co-founder Carl Phillips said: "We're very much looking forward to welcoming Attic this summer. Attic are not only a strong presence in this city, but also have a well deserved reputation nationally — their beers are a perfect match for both our festivals."

Attic co-founder Oli Hurlow said: "We're so excited to be working with Mostly Jazz and Moseley Folk and Arts Festival. As a brewery born in South Birmingham and built independently from the ground up, partnering with festivals that share that same spirit of creativity, community and local pride feels like a natural fit."

Attic co-founder Sam Back added: "We started here and we are passionate about showcasing the very best of Birmingham on a bigger stage. We can't wait to be part of the atmosphere and the moments that make our city so special."

Celebrating its 20th edition this year, Moseley Folk and Arts Festival (Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2026) features appearances from rising Irish stars Kingfishr, a reunited Super Furry Animals, North American bluegrass/folk act Dead South and Frank Turner, while Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival (Friday 10 to Sunday 12 July 2026) boasts headline sets from drum'n'bass heroes Fabio and Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra, Jordan Rakei, the soulful Jalen Ngonda and British R&B pioneers Soul II Soul. Both festivals take place in the idyllic Moseley Park, Moseley, Birmingham.

Uni' friends Sam and Oli began brewing beer in an attic in Kings Heath before opening their Stirchley taproom in 2018. They've gone on to win multiple awards with their flagship beer, Intuition, recently crowned Best Session Pale Ale (Canned) at the SIBA National Independent Beer Awards 2026.

About Attic

Born in South Birmingham and built on hard graft, creativity and community, Attic is proud to call this city home.

What began in an attic in Kings Heath, has grown into the largest independent brewery in the West Midlands. Oli and Sam met at university, bonded over a love of beer, then walked away from corporate jobs with a simple idea: To help put Birmingham on the map as a city that creates a great pint.

The early days in 2018 were equal parts ambition and improvisation. Ancient kit. Friends and family helping out. A taproom built with determination. Every penny earned went, and continues to go, straight back into the brewery. No shortcuts. Just steady growth and a community that backed us from the start.

Today, we're still owner operated. Still self funded. Still grounded in the same values that started it all. Efficiency in how we work. Positivity in how we show up. Customer focus in everything we do.

That is why working with Moseley Jazz Festival and Moseley Folk & Arts Festival means so much to us.

Like us, they were born in Birmingham. Independent. Creative. Community driven. Built from the ground up and proud of it. Together, we represent a modern Birmingham. Confident. Welcoming. Full of colour and culture.

As we continue to grow and represent this city on the national stage, partnerships like this matter. They are not just sponsorships. They are shared stories built in Brum.
