BBPA response to appointment of UK Packaging PRO

Emma McClarkin, CEO of the British Beer and Pub Association, said: "We welcome the appointment of UK Packaging PRO and look forward to being involved in influencing the future delivery of the packaging Extended Producer Responsibility scheme.

"An industry-led PRO that works on behalf of all producers will be key to achieving the best environmental outcomes in the most cost-effective way.

“Today’s announcement is a significant milestone for pEPR and we encourage the Government to build on it by urgently addressing wider issues with the scheme, such as unfairly double-charging pubs for the disposal of non-household waste.”
