Few names in Irish brewing carry as much weight as Beamish, the iconic stout from Cork that’s been quietly winning loyal drinkers since 1792.
We’re thrilled to announce that Cave Direct is now the importer and distributor of Beamish Irish Stout in Great Britain. That means pubs up and down the country can finally pour Irelands finest.
Beamish is a beer built on tradition. It’s brewed in Cork with over two centuries of know-how, and what sets it apart is its balance, smooth roastiness, gentle bitterness and a dry, moreish finish. It’s the stout of choice for many in Ireland, and now, thanks to our partnership, it has a proper home in the UK.
"Growing up, there was always an air of mystery around Beamish. You could only find it in Cork, and you wouldn't really see it anywhere else. Then, in 2022, I started to notice it around Belfast and it was then I knew we had to have it on Cave Direct's list," says Rob Young, National Account Manager at Cave Direct. "It represents everything people look for in a pint. It has depth, balance and tradition. It really is the stout drinker's stout.
"This partnership has been three years in the making, and now, bringing it to Great Britain is more than just adding another beer to our range, it’s about giving drinkers access to a classic that deserves to be poured with pride. We know the demand is there, so we’re taking a careful, phased approach to make sure Beamish gets the welcome it deserves."
To do Beamish justice, and to ensure pouring Beamish the right way, we’re kicking things off with a slow rollout. A variety of venues, who also happen to be known for their dedication to quality stout service, will be part of the first stage of our rollout with more venues to come in 2026.
There will also be a launch party at The Cow in Westbourne Park in London on Thursday 2nd October, followed by Beamish being by poured in venues nationwide the same week.
