This Friday evening a special event in Flanders is taking place where 6 classic beer styles will be featured in a tutored beer tasting. Each style will be represented by an example from Belgium and one from the UK. The event is being held at Brouwerij Skøllmann in Sijsele, just under 10 km from Bruges. Co hosts are Katie Van de Weghe, founder of Queens of Hop and Paul Davies, Guild member and founder of the award winning AleHunters. Ben Caussen, Wort Wizard will be moderating.
UK breweries represented are Pillars, Fuller's, Elgoods, Shepherd Neame and St Austell, showcasing Helles, Porter, 'Lambic', English IPA, Belgian Dubbel and Belgian Tripel.
For those in the area tickets are available via https://fb.me/e/k1xPPaJlg
Attendees will taste the beers in blind in pairs and vote for their favourite or best representation of each style - adding some spice to the occasion.
