British Beer and Pub Association response to no and low beer's inclusion in UK inflation basket

A BBPA spokesperson, said: “The inclusion of no and low beer in the ONS’ latest basket to calculate inflation recognises them as a standard product in the nation’s shopping basket.
This is no surprise given that no and low has been the fastest growing beer category for the past few years with a record 200 million pints served in pubs last year alone as many of us choose to moderate.
"This is a trend that will further accelerate if the government makes a simple regulatory change to the definition of no and low alcohol products that will drive investment into the sector and boost business growth, as well as more fantastic options for beer drinkers. "
