After achieving YOY volume growth of 18% MAT at the end of Q3, Budweiser Budvar UK has further fortified its range of authentic Czech beers with the rollout of a 0.0% lager.

The Budweiser Budvar 0.0% lager is available immediately in 330ml cans and bottles ahead of the key festive season and Dry January.

Made with the same quality ingredients, techniques and maturation used to brew the iconic Budweiser Budvar Original Czech Lager, the only difference is a special process used at the end of brewing that gently filters out the alcohol in order to retain that classic Budvar flavour.

The alcohol is removed using cold membrane filtration with reverse osmosis, which avoids thermal stress and off-flavours common to other dealcoholisation techniques. The result is a full-flavoured alcohol-free beer that tastes like the Original.

To support the launch, increase reach and drive awareness of the brand’s provenance and heritage, wide-ranging media and advertising campaigns across London bus, railway, tube and radio will be commencing this Autumn.

Rich Sanna, who has been announced as the new Budweiser Budvar UK Managing Director, said:

“While we are by no means the first to market, we truly believe our beer is first for flavour and with interest in our brand at an all-time high, I’m confident the 0.0% will win over discerning beer lovers and abstainers alike across the UK.”

Budweiser Budvar 0.0% Tasting Notes

Brewed using whole-cone Saaz hops from Žatec, pristine water from an Ice Age aquifer, Moravian malting barley and the brewery’s heritage lager yeast, Budvar 0.0% delivers a bold and bready malt profile, balanced by a lightly spiced, fresh citrus aroma with a gentle hint of bitterness - unmistakably Budvar in character.
