Bunta Beer Makes Its Draught Debut at The Latimer, London


The UK’s “curry and a pint” ritual enters a new era as Bunta Beer, the UK’s first non-alcoholic Indian craft beer, announces its first draught listing at The Latimer, one of London’s most anticipated new neighbourhood pubs.


The draught listing is a significant milestone for the brand, which was founded in October 2025. Bunta Beer will be serving their flagship non-alcoholic citrus lager – brewed specifically to complement Indian food – on tap at the venue.


Founder Gunikka Ahuja said: “Draught was always part of the long-term vision for Bunta, but honestly, wanting to push this side of the business came from personal frustration. So many times I’ve walked into a pub wanting a proper beer experience, only to find there’s no non-alcoholic craft option on draught – so you end up with a bottle or, worse, a half pint, which completely defeats the point. You’re not really part of the same shared experience. I always knew I wanted to change that – to make sure people who aren’t drinking or moderating still have access to the same quality, ritual, and feeling of having a fresh pint. The opportunity with The Latimer just accelerated that vision.”


Developed to enhance and pair with bold, spice-led dishes, Bunta Beer is a 0.5% gluten-free citrus lager with subtle carbonation to reduce bloating and enhance food pairing. Light, crisp and refreshing, it features orange peel and coriander seed – ingredients that mirror flavour compounds commonly found in Indian cooking.


The result is a beer designed to cut through heat, cleanse the palate, and elevate every bite – from kormas and jalfrezis to vindaloos and tandoori dishes. The Latimer is serving Masala haddock with curried tartare sauce, which Ahuja suggests as the perfect pairing for Bunta Beer.


New Delhi-born entrepreneur and former Adidas textile innovation manager, Ahuja created Bunta Beer to fill a long-overlooked gap: while Indian cuisine in the UK has evolved rapidly, the beers served alongside it have remained largely unchanged.


Ahuja explains: “Indian food is deeply cultural and expressive, but beer has remained generic. We wanted to build something that matches the energy, complexity and spice of the food itself.”


The Latimer, opening on Latimer Road, is a family-led pub and dining room from the Spiteri family, known for shaping some of London’s most influential restaurants. Led in the kitchen by Lorcan Spiteri and front-of-house and drinks by Fin Spiteri, The Latimer will offer a concise, high-quality drinks programme featuring draught beers, wines on tap, and a considered non-alcoholic selection.


Bunta Beer’s launch into draught service follows a period of rapid recognition for the brand, including a Gold award at the 2026 London Beer Competition, and early listings with leading UK hospitality venues and retail partners.


Beyond brewing, founder Gunikka Ahuja is also developing Buntatex™, a biodegradable textile innovation designed to transform brewing waste into sustainable packaging – reflecting the brand’s wider commitment to circular design.


Ahuja added: “We’re not replacing beer. We’re rethinking what beer can be when it’s designed around food, culture, and how people actually eat today. The Latimer is such a wonderful space to be partnered with and we can’t wait to pop down for a pint of chilled Bunta Beer.”
