Fall for Flavour: Heartwood Inns Launches New Autumn Menu and Happy Hour, Celebrating Comforting Flavours and Responsibly Sourced Ingredients

Heartwood Inns is welcoming the arrival of autumn with a new seasonal menu, bringing together rich, comforting flavours, carefully sourced ingredients and dishes designed for lingering lunches, cosy suppers and everything in between.

The new menu builds on Heartwood Inns’ ongoing commitment to creating food with care, using quality ingredients that reflect the changing seasons and are cooked from scratch by skilled chefs across its collection of 36 pubs and pubs with rooms.

Earlier this year, Heartwood Inns retained its Three-Star Food Made Good Rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) - the highest accreditation available - for the fourth consecutive year. The recognition reflects Heartwood’s continued commitment to responsible sourcing, supporting its people and communities, and reducing its environmental impact.

As the days draw in and the crisp chill of autumn settles in, the new menu introduces a selection of warming dishes designed to embrace the season. The French Onion Soup is rich and deeply caramelised, topped with toasted croutons and a bubbling blanket of golden Gruyère cheese, while the Venison & Ale Pie offers a comforting autumn classic, with slow-braised venison in a glossy sauce grand veneur beneath a crisp pastry lid, served with buttery mash.

For something with a little more spice, the Malabar Fish Curry brings together spice-roasted monkfish and sweet king prawns with fragrant coconut rice in a vibrant, velvety sauce.

Dessert takes a decadent turn with the new Rum Baba – a light sponge steeped in warm, aromatic rum and finished with rich rum-infused Chantilly cream and tender, marinated mini figs.

For those looking to make a little more of their afternoon, Heartwood’s popular Seasonal Set Menu returns, offering two or three courses of carefully chosen seasonal dishes. Available Monday to Friday from 12pm–5pm, guests can settle in for a relaxed midday meal, with dishes including warming Muscat pumpkin soup and delicate pan-fried gnocchi.

As the evening draws in, Heartwood’s Happy Hour offers the perfect excuse to linger a little longer. Available Sunday to Friday from 5pm–7pm, with an extended Happy Hour on Thursdays until 8pm, guests can enjoy 2-for-1 on selected autumn drinks, including a rich Velvet Espresso Martini, citrusy Malfy Arancia G&T, crisp Beavertown Gamma Ray and refreshing Fever-Tree Sparkling Elderflower, alongside £5 off selected house wines.

With its new autumn menu, Heartwood Inns invites guests to settle in, take their time and enjoy the season, from warming bowls and golden pastry to rich puddings and drinks worth staying for.
