From 70 Award Wins to Local Charity Champions: Why Elusive Brewing Is the Ultimate Wokingham Weekend Hub

Award-winning independent brewery Elusive Brewing is celebrating a double triumph this week, following its 10th anniversary party. The Finchampstead-based team welcomed the local community, beer enthusiasts, and civic leaders to their packed onsite taproom last weekend to mark a decade of brewing and fundraising.

The weekend's milestone was capped off by an official Special Award presentation from the Deputy Mayor of Wokingham Town Council, Cllr Alexandra Domingue, and Kevin Lenton, Chairman of the Berkshire South East branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). The delegation presented Elusive Brewing with a special certificate recognising both their phenomenal 10-year track record of award-winning beer and their contribution to their local Wokingham borough through charity work.

At what is a challenging time for independent small businesses, Elusive's founder, Andy Parker, said:

“Being part of our local community is part of Elusive’s DNA. While our industry is facing many challenges at the moment, we feel it’s incredibly important to give priority to supporting the local charities that are the lifeblood of Wokingham. Our 10th birthday was the perfect opportunity to celebrate how far we’ve come with the very people who got us here.”

Presenting the certificate on behalf of the local beer community, Kevin Lenton, Chairman of CAMRA Berkshire South East, commented:

“The Berkshire South East Branch awarded Elusive a certificate in recognition of the fact that they have now been brewing for ten years. Remarkably, during this time they have been given over 70 prestigious awards, the highlight being judged Best IPA at the 2025 CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain awards for Oregon Trail, which was available in the taproom for their Birthday Party. Andy Parker and his team give heavily to local charities and events in Wokingham. In recognition of his immense contribution to Wokingham, the Deputy Mayor of Wokingham Town Council, Cllr Alexandra Domingue, presented the certificate to Andy on behalf of his team.”

Celebrating at Party in the Park

The birthday celebrations are set to carry straight over into the upcoming weekend, where Elusive will be driving further local fundraising efforts. For the fourth consecutive year, the brewery will be hosting the main bar at Wokingham’s annual Party in the Park music festival, and donating 50p from every single pint sold to local charities.
