Greene King Achieves Full Marks From Best Bar None for Safety & Excellence for Third Consecutive Year

Greene King, the UK's leading pub company and brewer, has been awarded full accreditation for its managed pubs from Best Bar None, reaffirming its commitment to responsible retailing and safer socialising for its customers and teams.

To receive the accreditation, 1,422 pubs across Greene King's managed estate were assessed on compliance and safety, security, responsible operations, team welfare, wellbeing, community and customer care. This is the third year Greene King has achieved an 100% pass rate.

Best Bar None is a Home Office-backed initiative which identifies well-run licensed premises within the hospitality industry. The nationwide multi-site accreditation scheme complements the regional scheme model helping to bring more hospitality venues up to Best Bar None's required standards. Greene King is also part of around 50 regional schemes.

The benefits of the accreditation include compliance with the Licensing Act while supporting teams to ensure pubs are run to a consistently high standard across the estate.

Jodie Tate, Greene King's Chief Operating Officer said: “The safety and wellbeing of our customers and team members are a top priority and this Best Bar None accreditation recognises that our pubs are welcoming, safe spaces to work and socialise in. By meeting Best Bar None's exacting standards, it shows our ongoing commitment to responsible retailing and how our pub teams are working together for the good of everyone.”

The Lord Smith of Hindhead, Philip Smith, Chairman of Best Bar None said: “Many congratulations to everyone at Greene King on achieving 100% Best Bar None accreditation across their managed pubs once again this year. Repeating this achievement shows real consistency in the company's commitment to safer socialising and reflects the hard work of its teams alongside our national team throughout the year. With more than 4,500 venues now part of our Home Office-backed initiative, Greene King's continued success sets a strong example for the rest of the industry to follow.”

Greene King's accreditation is valid until May 2027.
