Greene King, the UK’s No.1 cask ale brewer, is embracing the chillier months with the return of three seasonal cask favourites, bringing warmth, character, and a touch of festive magic to pubs across the country.
Leading the line-up is the much-loved No.1 Christmas ale, Rocking Rudolph, back with its signature full-bodied flavour and rich malty notes. Brewed with the same great recipe, the 4.2% ABV ale is making its annual comeback with a refreshed festive badge, featuring Rudolph’s signature lights, and extra Christmas spirit to draw attention to the pump handles this November and December.
As part of Greene King’s ongoing partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, 5p (plus VAT) from every pint of the Christmas ale sold will be donated to the charity, helping the charity to continue to provide vital care and support for people living with cancer.
Customers that stock Rocking Rudolph will also receive bespoke festive point of sale this year to drive awareness of the beer and support venues with decorations that drive the occasion, which can often be expensive. There are also further opportunities for customers to access Rocking Rudolph glassware, jumpers and other merchandise.
Joining Rocking Rudolph is Fireside, the 4.5% ABV premium ale that returns for November and December. The masses of grapefruit and lemon citrus flavours are balanced by the black malt that adds a subtle dryness to the ale. Fireside is the perfect companion for colder evenings and cosy gatherings at the pub.
Rounding off the cask calendar this year is Abbot Reserve, the robust 6.5% ABV ale making its return from December into January. Known for its rich fruitcake notes and full-bodied depth, Abbot Reserve is ideal for those seeking a deep rich flavour in a pint.
Amina Ali, Brand Manager at Greene King, said: “Our winter cask range is all about bringing celebration, rich flavours and a sense of occasion to venues. Rocking Rudolph is a firm festive favourite, and this year’s refreshed badge adds even more theatre to the bar. With Fireside and Abbot Reserve also returning, we’re offering a trio of seasonal ales that cater to all those winter moments.”
All three beers are part of the Greene King Fresh Cask Releases calendar, which features 15 limited-edition beers available throughout the year.
Available in both firkin and pin formats, these seasonal casks offer flexibility for venues of all sizes and help keep drinkers engaged with something new that complements the season and adds to the experience of the venue.
