As we head back to work after a break, I thought I'd let you know what is coming up in the NCTJ's programme of live masterclasses and lunch-and-learn training sessions. These are suitable for both you and your team and are aimed at people from a wide range of backgrounds with varying skillsets. They are designed to help you get started in new areas, and upskill where you need to.
Engage your audience: content that connects and writing with impact masterclass - (previously Principles of journalism) - 4 September
Journalism to PR masterclass - 11 September
Editing skills masterclass series - 15 - 19 September - choose days to suit you or the whole series
Essential digital skills for journalists masterclass - 23 September
Media law masterclass - 25 September
Introduction to podcasting masterclass - 7 October
Editing skills lunch and learn series - 13 - 17 October - choose days to suit you or the whole series
Feature writing masterclass - 6 November
Data journalism - how to find compelling stories in data - 26 November
Please keep an eye on the schedule for future dates, and if there are any topics you would like to see, please let me know.
You can also learn in your own time with the NCTJ's e-learning courses. Examples include essentials of media law, fact checking and verification and an introduction to radio broadcasting.
I also wanted to let you know about the NCTJ’s Certificate in Foundation Journalism. This qualification is a brilliant way to develop journalistic skills. It can also be a helpful launchpad to the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism qualification. Do let me know if you'd like further information.
Finally, our bespoke options remain a great way to upskill a larger group, or if you require a more tailored approach. If this is something you'd like to discuss, do get in touch.
