Hospitality Rides 2025 Wraps Up, Raising Over £400K for Industry Charities

LONDON, UK – June 19, 2025 – The Hospitality sector is celebrating a monumental achievement as the inaugural cycle challenge under the newly rebranded Hospitality Rides initiative has successfully wrapped up, raising an impressive £403,000. The epic 400km sponsored cycle across Taiwan saw 29 dedicated industry professionals push their limits, demonstrating an incredible commitment to supporting two vital hospitality charities.

Hospitality Rides, the flagship industry sponsored cycle challenge, which was rebranded in 2024 from "Pedalling for Pubs," is dedicated to raising crucial funds for LTC (Licensed Trade Charity) and Only A Pavement Away, two leading organisations committed to supporting the hospitality sector.

With LTC helping to transform lives and unleash potential from people from across the hospitality sector; and Only A Pavement Away dedicated to supporting people facing homelessness, prison leavers and veterans, to find long term, stable employment in the industry, funds raised will prove vital in helping people entering, currently employed, or leaving the hospitality sector.

Katy Moses, Managing Director of leading research consultancy KAM and founder of Hospitality Rides, said "What an absolutely phenomenal achievement by everyone involved, Taiwan proved to be one of the hardest rides to date, and I have so much respect for all the riders. To have raised over £400,000 is truly inspiring and a testament to the incredible generosity and dedication within our industry. These vital funds will directly support the invaluable work of the LTC and Only A Pavement Away, making a real difference to countless lives in hospitality."

Last month's challenging ride, which covered almost the entire length of Taiwan, was made possible by the tireless efforts of the 29 industry professionals. Alongside KAM, key supporting partners and sponsors included Avani Solutions, Britvic, DOJO, Fleet Street, Lucky Saint, and Punch Pubs. Building on this success, organisers have announced that the next fundraising challenge will take place in Spring 2026, with cyclists set to embark on an epic journey across Cuba. Interested participants are encouraged to contact the LTC for more information.

Alongside its sister event, Pedalling 2 Pubs, Hospitality Rides has firmly established itself as a flagship fundraising event for the LTC and Only A Pavement Away. Combined, the two events have exceeded £1.5 million in fundraising since their inception, providing critical support to individuals entering, currently employed in, or transitioning out of the hospitality sector.

About Hospitality Rides

Hospitality Rides is a charity bike ride with hospitality at its heart, created in recognition and support of disadvantaged people from around the pub, brewery and wider hospitality sectors.

Hospitality contributes £93 billion annually to the economy and is the third largest employer in the UK, with 3.5 million people working in the sector. The sector has shown faster economic growth than any other, and with favourable conditions, hospitality could increase its economic contribution by £29 billion and create 500,000 new jobs by 2027.

Hospitality Rides, in support of the LTC (Licensed Trade Charity) and Only A Pavement Away, is committed to promoting fair employment for disadvantaged people and driving positive change in the hospitality industry.

About the LTC (Licensed Trade Charity)

Founded in 1793, the Licensed Trade Charity has been helping transform lives and unleash potential across the licensed hospitality sector for over 200 years, however, the work the Charity does for the industry has never been more important.

Central to the Licensed Trade Charity’s service is its invaluable 24-hour free helpline that is there day and night to give people the support they need, whenever they need it. Many reach out to the LTC helpline for support with their mental wellbeing, with the charity providing practical guidance and wellbeing support. However, the helpline and website are vital first steps, allowing the Licensed Trade Charity to assess the care needed for its users. Many of its beneficiaries come first through the helpline and then speak to a specialist support team or trained counsellors for support in all areas of social, mental wellbeing and financial aid who will provide help on a confidential basis.

The spectrum of support drinks people can receive from the Licensed Trade Charity is vast, it really is a one stop shop, covering everything from employment advice to one off grants of up to £5,000 that might go towards helping with rent arrears, having a new washing machine fitted or providing new school uniform for children. Of course, the level of support industry professionals can receive is dependent upon length of service and grants are means tested but all resources are completely free. The charity also runs three fully funded independent schools, providing education to many children from the sector. Through its bank of specialists and dedicated staff, the Licensed Trade Charity is perfectly positioned to stop an issue turning into a crisis.
