Lallemand Announces the Appointment of a New President & General Manager for Its Brewing Business

Lallemand is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sylvie Van Zandycke, succeeding Brent Jordan, as the President & General Manager of its Brewing business, a global provider of fermentation ingredients, process aids, enzyme and education to the brewing industry, effective February 1st, 2026.

Brent Jordan has successfully led the brewing business since 2012 and will transition to the role of Senior Vice President & Special Advisor at the Lallemand Group level, whilst simultaneously supporting the Brewing management team and leadership transition over a period of time.

“Having worked closely with Sylvie in the past it’s particularly gratifying to see her promoted to this new level of responsibility” says Bill Nankervis, Executive VP and COO of Lallemand. “We are very fortunate to have someone of Sylvie’s caliber and experience taking over the leadership of our brewing business unit. I am sure she will be very successful in her new role. I am equally looking forward to continuing to work with Brent Jordan in his new capacity.”

Sylvie has a bio-engineering degree from Belgium and a Ph.D. in yeast physiology from Oxford Brookes University in the UK. She joined Lallemand in 2004, leading the genetic analysis lab in Montreal, QC, Canada and held a number of positions over the years. More recently in her role as Director of Sales and Marketing for yeast, nutrients and bacteria, she contributed to building a talented team and growing the high quality, premium brewing yeast business for the last 9 years.

“I am honored and grateful to the leadership team of Lallemand for the opportunity to lead the Brewing business including the Siebel Institute of Technology, the oldest brewing school in North America” said Dr. Sylvie Van Zandycke. “With a complete and diversified portfolio aimed at amateurs, craft and large brewers, we are well positioned to continue serving this industry with innovative solutions. I welcome the challenge with open arms and look forward to this transitional year.”
