London & South East's Best Beers Revealed at Indie Beer Awards – with Neckstamper Brewing taking coveted top spot

East London's Neckstamper Brewing have taken home the coveted 'Overall Champion' award at the Indie Beer Awards South East, beating a host of winners from across a broad range of keg beer categories in the final 'Champion of Champions' judging.

The brewery won Gold with their flagship 'Mizzle' New England style hazy IPA, a beer that has won the independent brewery multiple awards over the years and which will now go forward alongside the other category winners to the National Finals at BeerX in Liverpool next month. Brewery founder Adam Jefferies had this to say on their win;

"We’re absolutely over the moon to win this award with Mizzle — our core New England IPA and a beer we’re incredibly proud of. Huge congratulations to Jo for brewing the beer, and to the whole team behind it. Soft, juicy and hop-forward, we’ve been evolving Mizzle for years, continuing to push hop flavour and intensity. Seeing it recognised at this level means a lot to us."

The Indie Beer Awards were judged and presented at Big Penny Social in Walthamstow, London, ahead of the Big Penny Beer Fest which continues today and tomorrow. The awards are judged by beer sommeliers, master brewers and other expert beer judges from across the industry. Organised by the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA), the awards are part of the hugely successful Indie Beer campaign launched last year by the organisation.

“The quality of independent beer has never been better in the UK and nowhere was that more obvious than at the Indie Beer Awards South East. From lagers and pale ales to stouts and speciality beers the judges had an incredibly tough job in choosing from a superb range of beers. Huge congratulations to all of the category winners and in particular Neckstamper for beating tough competition in the coveted Overall Champions jugding." Neil Walker, Indie Beer Awards organiser.

Gold winners from the Indie Beer awards in the South East will now go forwards to the National Finals in Liverpool March 2026 where champions from across the UK go head to head.
