9th April 2026, Bristol, UK — Lost and Grounded Brewers has announced the return of its much-loved annual charity dog show, Dog Day Afternoon, which will take place on 25 April at the brewery's taproom. Now in its fifth year, the popular event invites dog lovers and their four-legged companions to enjoy a day of friendly competition, community spirit and fundraising in support of StreetVet UK. Last year the Dog Day Afternoon project raised just over £1,500 for the charity, adding to the total of over £5,000 donated over the last 4 years.
The event celebrates Bristol's vibrant dog community with a programme of light-hearted competitions and activities designed to showcase the talents and personalities of local pups. Categories include Musical Sits, Best Trick, Best Dressed, and this year's new event – the Puppy Parade that young and small dogs can take part in. Attendees will also have the chance to vote for the coveted Best in Show title.
In addition to the competitions, every participating dog will be invited to be photographed for the opportunity to feature on a series of limited-edition can artwork for a special Dog Day Afternoon beer brewed by Lost and Grounded Brewers.
This year introduces a new Advance Ticket option, offering exclusive benefits for those who book in advance. Ticket holders will be eligible to enter their dog in the Best in Show competition as well as access to an online pet portrait gallery following the beer's release.
Tickets cost £5 per dog, with proceeds from ticket sales (excluding processing fees) donated to StreetVet UK. The brewery will also donate £1 from every pint sold on the day to the charity, helping support its vital work providing veterinary care to pets belonging to people experiencing homelessness.
Dog Day Afternoon promises a fun-filled day for the whole community, bringing together great beer, adorable dogs and a shared commitment to a good cause.
All dogs attending must be well behaved and kept on leads.
