A Yorkshire dad will make his dream trip to Norfolk after winning a Father’s Day competition run by an award-winning brewery.
Tony Flynn’s daughter, Nichola Miller, entered Woodforde’s Father’s Day competition earlier this month, which aimed to reward the amazing dads making a difference to their families.
Tony was named among three winners in the competition, who will each receive a hamper of Woodforde’s beer, merchandise and a tour of its brewery in Woodbastwick.
“It’s amazing to have won,” Nichola said. “It was a real shock, but it’s a great surprise for dad.
“He’s a brilliant dad and grandfather. He’s so kind and would do anything for anyone, especially now for his grandchildren.
“We’ve lived all over – including growing up in Africa – but my mum and dad have always said they wanted to visit Norfolk. It’s great they now have a chance to go.
“My sister and I are planning on booking them somewhere nice to stay so they can make the most of their trip.”
The Woodforde’s competition saw entries from across the country, with Tony and Nichola hailing from Leeds.
Nichola added her dad couldn’t wait to try a pint of Norfolk’s finest after hearing he’d won the competition.
She said: “Dad was a lager man when he was younger, but he’s really starting to get into his ales now.
“A colleague of mine told me Woodforde’s brews some great beers, so we’ve all been looking forward to giving them a try.”
Chris Fuller, Marketing Manager at Woodforde’s, said: “A huge congratulations to Tony and all our worthy winners in this year’s competition.
“I hope they all enjoy their well-earned beers – and we can’t wait to welcome them to Woodbastwick for their brewery tour.
“Cheers to all the dads out there.”
