London, September 2025:  Independent South London brewery Orbit Beers will launch their annual Red Ale on cask from 13th October, as part of their White Label Series of seasonal releases, which explore the more experimental side of their brewing.

Robbie Sykes, General Manager at Orbit Beers, commented:“We’ve dabbled in cask before with styles like our English IPA and Dead Wax London Porter, but this year we’ve chosen one of our favourite seasonal releases that really suits the format - the red ale with Sorachi Ace and Citra. Cask gives us a chance to work with some of London’s fantastic cask-focused pubs that we don’t often reach, and to brew a batch of beer designed for a dispense system rich in British heritage.”

The White Label Series

Inspired by white-label records shared with DJs to test new sounds, Orbit’s White Label Series is a collection of one-off or seasonal experimental beers designed to explore new flavours and gauge drinkers’ reactions.

The Red Ale Tasting Notes

Brewed together with our friends at Hakata restaurant in Bermondsey, this Red Ale was brewed to pair perfectly with Japanese cuisine, in particular, Ramen dishes.

The beer has a distinctive, unique characteristic from Sorachi Ace, a hop variety developed in Japan in the 1970s.  Deep red in colour, this hoppy ale has a malty, caramel base with an abundance of hop character. Sorachi Ace hops provide hints of coconut, lemon, dill, coriander, and a touch of oak, with the Citra hops delivering a hit of grapefruit citrus.

Closest Stations: Elephant and Castle, Kennington, Oval.

Established in South London in 2014, Orbit Beers are deeply rooted in European brewing traditions with a modern approach. They take classic styles and make them their own, with an eye for finesse and drinkability.

They love the incredible balance of German beers and the complexity of flavours that Belgian yeasts produce. They love hops - the spicy elegance of classic European ones, the zesty aromas of New Zealand varieties, and the fruity extremes of their American counterparts.

Orbit’s work is inspired by the ethos of their favourite record labels, who hold music and art above all else. Likewise, Orbit Beers accepts no compromises when it comes to making their beers and maintains an uncompromising commitment to brewing excellence.
