Orbit Beers release an Extra Special Bitter in collaboration with French & Jupps Roasted Malt Specialists for Cask Ale Week 2026
South London brewery Orbit Beers have collaborated with French & Jupps, Roasted Malt Specialists to brew an Extra Special Bitter (ESB). The beer will be released on 16 September 2026, in time for National Cask Ale Week. Brewed with Maris Otter alongside roasted speciality malts from French & Jupps, including Caramel Malt and Chocolate Malt, as well as English hops; First Gold, Brambling Cross, and East Kent Goldings. Orbit Beers were also joined by The Shirker’s Rest, The Green Goddess, and The Rusty Bucket to brew the beer: three great South London pubs that champion independent beer and serve impeccable cask. The beer will be pouring at all three venues during Cask Ale Week.
London, September 2026: Independent South London brewery Orbit Beers are set to release their new ESB on cask on 16 September 2026, in time for National Cask Ale Week. The beer is part of Orbit’s White Label Series, a range that explores the more experimental side of their brewing.
Known for their European-style keg beers, including their award-winning flagship Nico Köln Lager and the weird and wonderful Berliner Weisse Tzatziki Sour, Orbit have decided to release a limited number of special seasonal casks.
The beer was brewed in collaboration with French & Jupps Roasted Malt Specialists, as well as three South London venues: The Shirker’s Rest, The Green Goddess and The Rusty Bucket, who will be serving the collaboration brew during Cask Ale Week.

“Following on from the great feedback about our casks of IPA, Dead Wax Porter, and Red Ale, we’ve decided to dip our toes in the water a little further this year and create something truly traditional to support National Cask Ale Week.
“Our team often taken inspiration from traditional European-style beers with cultural significance, so cask seems like a logical category to explore and allows us to supply some of the fantastic pubs in London that we don’t work with as often.
It’s been great to work together with Heritage Maltsters French & Jupps, as well as some of our local stockists to champion a style that we all really enjoy.”
The White Label Series
The ESB is part of Orbit’s White Label Series, inspired by white label records distributed by record labels to DJs and radio stations to promote new artists and test listeners’ reactions to their tracks.
Orbit Beers’ own White Label Series is an ever-growing collection of one-off releases that explore the experimental side of their brewing, for much the same reason: to try something different, test new ideas and see how people respond.
The ESB
Dating back to 1810, French & Jupps are Britain’s oldest maltings, renowned for their handcrafted, roasted speciality malts. They provided the Caramel Malt and Chocolate Malt used in this recipe, which Orbit Beers paired with a Maris Otter base malt.
Rich amber-copper in colour, the beer showcases layers of traditional crystal malt character, with aromas of digestive biscuits, toffee and light caramel. A touch of Chocolate Malt adds gentle roasted complexity and depth.
Traditional British hops shine throughout. Brambling Cross brings hedgerow fruit aromas and subtle blackberry notes, East Kent Goldings offers delicate earthy spice, and First Gold adds a hint of marmalade.
