On Friday 18th July, the doors to The Red Lion in Bradley open to customers after its future success was toasted the night before at a drink’s reception for guests by The Worshipful, The Mayor of Stafford Councillor Jenny Barron.
The newest addition to Davenports’ portfolio, boasts a rich history that dates to the 17th Century, and is nestled in the heart of the pretty village of Bradley. As a Boutique Collection pub, the focus is on seasonal, delicious food, and a premium drink offering.
Original features, bold wall dressings, and quirky accessories add to the welcoming bar and stylish dining areas, ensuring guests can relax and savour the generous and thoughtful dishes in a memorable setting.
A foodie paradise, The Red Lion will serve up all the great classics that one would expect from a quintessential British Pub, which will sit alongside an elevated offering boasting fresh, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to create exciting, innovative and generous dishes…that’s in addition to the wickedly good burgers, grazing and bar bite menus and ‘big’ sharing flatbreads!
Great ales, curated wines, premium spirits, and handcrafted cocktails will be served up to compliment the dining experience, which can be enjoyed indoors, on the Champagne terrace, or the pretty garden.
Adding more value into a weekend visit, the pub will also serve up free live music on Saturday evenings once food service is complete. Commenting on the new pub, Katie McPhilimey, Associate Marketing Director said; “It is a beautiful village, and a picture-perfect pub, and the new décor and changes really do enhance that. The foodie offering is incredibly thoughtful, and ranges from very generous pub classics to elevated dishes such as our Harissa King Prawns, Panzanella Salad and Five Spiced Duck Leg as well as wickedly good burgers to include our Guinness BBQ Glazed Pulled Pork Burger and large sharing flatbreads – The Italian being one of my favourites!”
On Thursday 17th July, The Red Lion hosted a private drinks reception ahead of opening the doors and welcomed villagers, press, dignitaries and other VIP’s who enjoyed a BBQ, canapes, and generous free bars with Chase Vodka and Gin and Bacardi Mojito stations as well as an outdoor ale bar. The Worshipful, The Mayor of Stafford, Councillor Jenny Barron kindly toasted the future success of the pub, to a round of applause from guests.
Whilst other groups are closing pubs, Davenports continues to buck the trend adding handpicked new venues to its portfolio with more pubs set to open before the end of this year.
“We are picking up prestigious awards and opening venues in considered locations across our various portfolios, be that My Local, Pub & Kitchens or Boutique Collection. We focus on what each area needs, and then do our very upmost to deliver it. Making a difference, a positive difference in communities is key.”
