Pitch Perfect with Adrian Tierney-Jones

Updated: Jun 28

Wednesday 28th May 2025 7-8pm (BST) This event has been postponed. This is the first in a new series of online interactive training sessions where we have an experienced editor and writer in the hot seat, to listen to your pitch ideas. Our expert will provide live advice in a virtual group discussion setting and they will help you fine tune your pitches to increase your chances of securing more paid work. We encourage attendees to bring a handful of ideas for pitches ready to share. We will have a Guild moderator on hand to run the session and ensure everyone gets airtime to share ideas and receive feedback. Our expert: Adrian is an award-winning freelance journalist/author/speaker on beer, pubs, food and travel: op-ed on beer and pubs for the Daily Telegraph, Beer, Ferment, the late lamented Original Gravity (also editor), Daily Star, the late lamented Imbibe, the late lamented Sunday Times Travel Magazine (there’s a bit of a theme going on here), Pellicle, Good Beer Hunting and various others. Beer Writer of the Year 2017, other awards before and since. He has written quite a few books, including The Seven Moods of Craft Beer and United Kingdom of Beer; his latest books are Playing Hooky: A History of Hook Norton and A Pub for all Seasons, with the latter being one of the FT’s and The Spectator‘s food and drink books of 2024. Tickets: This event has been postponed.
