T&R Theakston brings bars its Barista Stout on cask

Independent Yorkshire brewery, T&R Theakston is now offering pubs and bars its popular Barista Stout in traditional cask form as the brewery continues its commitment to growing cask volumes across the Licensed On Trade.

Launched in 2015, Theakston’s Barista Stout is a velvety, coffee-flavoured stout brewed with caramel and vanilla notes, hints of dark berry fruits and a bold espresso aroma. The stout will now be available for pub goers to enjoy in traditional hand pull casks as the brewery’s seasonal cask beer for April and May.

As well as its cask launch, Barista Stout is also set to be made available in can format for the first time in the US, with the first shipment arriving in the states this week.

Across the market, pubs and bars are experiencing a cask ale revival and having reported double digit growth for traditional ales including its Old Peculier and Theakston XB over the past two years, Theakston’s cask launch of Barista Stout demonstrates the brewery’s ongoing commitment to strengthening this market’s future.

Richard Bradbury, Managing Director of Theakston’s Brewery, said: “The reception Barista Stout continues to receive is fantastic and we’re proud to now be offering it in cask for the very first time. As more drinkers turn towards darker beers and stouts, this naturally brings more people into the cask market which is a positive for breweries like us and for the Great British Pub. At heart, we will always be a cask first brewery and are passionate about the continued success of this market and growing cask volumes across our range.”
