talkSPORT and Meantime launch ‘So Good’ Lager ahead of a big summer of football

• The beer will be distributed across 55 Mitchells & Butlers sites (including all O’Neill’s sites), as well as being poured at food festivals and The Dial – Home of Meantime across the summer

• So Good Lager is made for the shared pub experience of football, that comes alive during match days - that unmistakable singalong moment when the whole pub feels like one team

London, June 10th – talkSPORT, the home of live sport and even livelier opinion across the UK and beyond, has partnered with London based brewers Meantime to launch a new limited-edition beer: So Good Lager. So Good is a crisp, sessionable beer made using premium British ingredients – perfect for celebrations and special moments in the pub this summer.

So Good Lager will roll out across 55 Mitchells and Butlers sites - the exclusive on trade partners for the launch - including all O’Neill’s sites and key sports venues from June 8th. The beer will also be pouring at The Dial – Home of Meantime next to the O2 Arena in Greenwich - as well as food festivals such as FUME, Wingjam and Meatopia. talkSPORT will also showcase the beer at their fan zones at the Aston Villa Warehouse throughout the summer.

The collaboration is powered by talkSPORT’s significant reach and influence across sport and audio – with a 3.5 million weekly radio audience, tuning in for live sport, debate and commentary, whilst a 600,000 podcast audience extends the engagement on-demand beyond live broadcast. This scale positions talkSPORT as a powerful platform to bring So Good Lager directly into the heart of football culture during the summer and tap into one of the biggest trading moments of the year for pubs.

So Good Lager uses 100% British grown ingredients, including sustainably grown East Anglian Pale Ale and Light Pale Ale malts with a clean, crisp, refreshing finish and an easy-drinking character ideal for live sport occasions. Opus hops add subtle floral notes with a slight citrus taste, while Target hops keep the bitterness low and balanced. It’s made for that unmistakable singalong moment when the whole pub feels like one team.

To publicise this collaboration the wider network at talkSPORT will be shouting out the collaboration on air, including live broadcasts from various participating venues, featuring talkSPORT broadcasters. The Meantime So Good Karaoke Booth will also be going on tour across M&B outlets.

Rich Whitty, Local Brands Director, Asahi UK, said:

“This kind of collaboration is a great fit for Meantime — authentic, culturally relevant and rooted in real shared occasions in the pub. By partnering with talkSPORT and working exclusively in the on trade with Mitchell & Butlers we’ll be creating something that genuinely adds to the matchday experience. It’s about capturing those moments when a pub comes together, voices lift, glasses are raised — and suddenly, it never felt so good.”

Dennie Morris, Director of Audio, News Broadcasting, talkSPORT, said:

“Nothing beats the roar in the pub when England are playing. We’ve joined forces with Meantime to brew a ‘so good’ lager crafted specifically for matchday. It’s crisp, refreshing taste is best served when the team finally bring the trophy back home.”
