Theakston Strengthens National Pub Commitment with Major Sales Team Expansion

North Yorkshire based brewery T&R Theakston has reinforced its commitment to pubs and bars across the UK with the appointment of four new members to its sales team, supporting the business’s continued growth in the on-trade.

Bringing more than 60 years of combined experience in the beverage industry, the new team significantly strengthens Theakston’s ability to support publicans nationwide. The appointments come at an exciting time for the brewery as it approaches its bicentenary, with a renewed focus on making its legendary beers more widely available and providing greater support to pubs and bars well beyond its Yorkshire heartland.

David Taylor joins as Business Development Manager for East Anglia. Previously a BDM at Inn Express wholesalers and owner of Independent Drinks Supplies Ltd, David brings a deep understanding of the UK free trade landscape, alongside extensive experience as a cask ale competition judge.

Nick Bubb joins as Business Development Manager for North Wales, Cheshire & the West of England, from Heineken UK. With a strong track record across both the on and off-trade, Nick has held roles from Customer Development Manager through to National Account Manager, complemented by valuable wholesale experience.

Will Hewitt is appointed Business Development Executive for the South of England, bringing hands-on operational insight from running his own catering business and managing both free trade and PubCo sites across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Hayden Wheeler takes on the same role for London & the South East, adding strong multi-site experience having managed a number of Red Cat pub sites across the Home Counties.

Richard Bradbury, Managing Director of T&R Theakston, said: “We are delighted to welcome David, Nick, Will and Hayden to the business. This is a significant investment in our sales team and underlines our ambition to support more pubs and bars, in more parts of the country, than ever before.

“We are seeing a real resurgence in demand for independent, characterful regional beers, particularly those brewed with heritage, care and quality ingredients. As licensees navigate ongoing challenges, it’s more important than ever that they can rely on trusted partners. With nearly 200 years of brewing behind us in Masham, as well as the family partnership of breweries we represent in Brennan’s and Royal Swinkels, we are proud to offer not just award-winning beers, but the service and support to match.”
