Thornbridge Brewery Wins Corporate Special Recognition Award for Support of Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity

Thornbridge Brewery has been honoured with the Corporate Special Recognition Award (Company) at this year's charity awards, in recognition of its outstanding support for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.

The award was presented on Friday at a ceremony celebrating the achievements of individuals and organisations who have gone above and beyond to support the charity, which provides vital care and support to children and families at Sheffield Children's Hospital.

Simon Webster, CEO and co-founder of Thornbridge Brewery, said: "We're absolutely delighted to receive this award. We believe in supporting our local communities, and Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity does extraordinary work for families across the region. It means a huge amount to us that our efforts have been recognised."

Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity relies on the generosity of local businesses and supporters to fund vital equipment, research and family support services that go beyond what NHS funding alone can provide. Thornbridge Brewery's contribution has been recognised as a standout example of corporate support for the cause over the past year.

In July 2025, the brewery pledged to raise £15,000 and is proud to announce it has now exceeded that target. Reaching this milestone has taken hard work from people across the whole business, with funds raised through a range of activities. These include individual fundraising initiatives, customer donations across the pub estate, proceeds from pizzas sold at the Taproom and contributions from meals enjoyed at the Cricket Inn, the brewery's gastropub in Sheffield alongside support for the Pride of Yorkshire trail itself.

The brewery, based in the Peak District and rooted in South Yorkshire, has long championed causes that benefit its local community, and this award adds to a growing list of recognitions for its charitable work.

Notes to Editors

Thornbridge Brewery are based right in the heart of the Peak District and have been making great beer since 2005. They now sell beer all over the UK and into 40 different countries internationally while having won over 500 awards worldwide.

Following in the paw prints of the Bears of Sheffield (2021) and the Herd of Sheffield (2016), Pride of Yorkshire will have a mighty impact at Sheffield Children's. Aiming to raise 2.8 million, this roar-some campaign will directly contribute to the transformation of the Emergency Department at Sheffield Children's Hospital.
