Timothy Taylor’s Launches New Stout Exclusively in Cask

Timothy Taylor’s Stout is the latest addition to the brewery’s range, launching exclusively in cask in pubs.

Brewed with carefully chosen roasted malts, the stout delivers rich coffee and chocolate flavours, balanced by a gentle bitterness and a smooth, satisfying mouthfeel and finish.

Dark in colour with subtle ruby undertones, it pours with a creamy white head. Freshly roasted coffee aromas and subtle smoky notes give the beer depth and character, while its balance makes it exceptionally drinkable.

The recipe combines Golden Promise Pale Ale Malt, roasted barley, crystal malt, chocolate malt and crystal rye malt with whole leaf WGV, Goldings and Fuggles hops. Pure Knowle Spring water and the brewery’s Taylor’s Taste yeast strain complete the brew.

Andy Leman, Head Brewer at Timothy Taylor’s, said: “We wanted a stout with plenty of roasted character and the balance people expect from Taylor’s. It’s rich and smooth, with lovely coffee and chocolate flavours, but at 4.2% it still has that sessionability we look for in every beer.”

Suggested food pairings include beef and ale pie, smoked brisket and dark chocolate brownie.

The first pours are planned for the brewery’s managed pubs, Taylor’s on the Green in Keighley and the Woolly Sheep Inn in Skipton, from Friday 30 October. Distribution will then extend across the wider Timothy Taylor’s pub estate, followed by pubs across the UK.

Availability will build as the rollout progresses. Drinkers are advised to contact individual pubs before visiting to check whether the beer is being served, or visit Timothy Taylor’s interactive Pint Finder to discover stockists near them: https://www.timothytaylor.co.uk/pint-finder
